Now well established in their home city of Perth, Western Australia and well into their third year as a working band, boredumb are still managing to maintain both the momentum and raw energy that drove them in their early days.
Since first hitting the stage in early 1998, boredumb have clocked up a marathon 150+ live shows, both at home in WA and in Australia's music capital Melbourne, where they proved to be a s successful as they are on their home turf.
Boredumb's music is both rhythmic and melodic, a rarity among the band's peer in the world of hardcore.
Boredumb's first release came in mid 1998 with the" Golden Sounds Of Suburbia" cassette being pressed and released independently ( something the band does to this day via Roundhouse Records, a label company owned by bassist Dion and Love Camp 7s Mike Wafer ) and subsequently bought out of print 3 times over by local punters.

This ear for the perfect blend of breakneck hardcore, driving breakdowns and melodic hooks, coupled with the bands renowned blistering live show, has seen them climb to the top of the local music ladder and gain much respect from punters and fellow bands alike.

The 9 songs on the tape were recorded and mixed in just under 10 hours and the songs themselves were raw, but it was clear that the band, given more time in the studio and some more experience under their belts, were capable of just about anything.
That year, several songs from " Golden Sounds.. ) featured on the local punk compilation " Four on the Floor " an the surf video " One Way ", granting the band more exposure and more room to move when, the following year, the band recorded and released their debut CD.
Clocking in at 6 lighting fast tracks, the " No Cause For Alarm " EP was an instant success. From the live favorite CD opener “Another Day” right through to the end, the CD proved to be well worth the wait, with the CD reaching #1 on the local charts and also selling out to boot.
After the band's highly successful tour to Melbourne in late 1999, the band returned to Perth and began to make plans for their next release.

Yet again, the band showed that their strength grows with each cornerstone they reach.
After the band's highly successful tour to Melbourne in late 1999, the band returned to Perth and began to make plans for their next release.
After playing with Adelaide band the Beer Goggles whilst in Melbourne, both bands decided to release a split EP of 3 songs each, which is due for release on August 19th and is being released in a strictly limited run of 500 copies Australia wide by Roundhouse Records.
The band's next EP, " testament to the superficial ", recorded at the same time as the split EP, will be released on September 1st, again by Roundhouse Records.
During this period, several tracks from the " No Cause For Alarm " EP ended up on a number of international compilation CDs ( see discography ) and the band was picked up by Chicago based US label Novocaine Records, who firstly included a track from the band's first EP on their " Scrape III " compilation. This quickly signed the band for US and Canadian releases.
Boredumb's first release with Novocaine Records will be the full length CD " element ", composing both of the band's EPs and the tracks from the split EP, to be released in the US and Canada in late August, with the label already making plans to bring the band over for a 2 months US and Canadian tour in mid 2001.
